Katherine Johnson Middle School will be celebrating the completion of its brand-new campus on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 5:30 p.m. on the new campus located at 2641 Kent Drive. The school will be celebrating its completion with a rocket launch and resource fair for families.
Families and community members are invited to explore the new campus during a showcase tour after the ceremony. The tour will feature the administrative office, library and a classroom.
Katherine Johnson’s new campus features a brand-new administrative office, classrooms, a science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) lab, media studio, multipurpose room and playfields. Decked out in space-themed murals and a quad resembling the orbit of our solar system, the outer space theme of the campus is an homage to the school’s namesake, mathematician Katherine Johnson, who was a pivotal figure in the United States’ first space flights.
This new facility marks a significant milestone for Katherine Johnson students, who will now have their own dedicated campus. Since 2011, middle and high school students shared space at Encina High School. Although Katherine Johnson Middle School was officially established in 2021, this is the first time students from both schools will each have their own campuses.
RSVP to join us for this historic campus launch ceremony. You can learn more about Katherine Johnson’s new campus by visiting its construction page.
We look forward to seeing you there!
