Katherine Johnson Middle School’s new campus is ready for take-off!

Katherine Johnson Middle School welcomed its campus in a way that can only be described as, “out of this world!”

On Dec. 19, families, staff and community members gathered at the school’s new campus location to launch a rocket in honor of new beginnings, and the school’s namesake.

Volunteer with the Assistance League Center works with student during Snack and Solve at Katherine Johnson

Over the course of six weeks, a small group of multilingual students at Katherine Johnson Middle School participated in “Snack and Solve,” a math intervention program designed to help build skills and boost confidence in a supportive, low-pressure environment.

Anvitha Samineni holding her certificate received at the 2025 California State Seal of Biliteracy Recognition Ceremony

Anvitha Samineni, a 12th grader from Mira Loma High School, was in the spotlight as a student speaker at the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) 2025 California State Seal of Biliteracy Recognition Ceremony. 

Samineni was one of the over 400 students across the San Juan Unified School District to receive the California State Seal of Biliteracy.
